No rate increases for 12 months
I periodically raise my rates in order to keep up with the cost of living and inflation. However, if you book a session with me, you will lock in that rate for the next 12 months. If we are still working together after 12 months, I may raise my rate so that it is commensurate with the rate I charge new students.
Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy
Unfortunately, when students cancel a session, it can be difficult for me to schedule another student during that time to make up for the income I would lose. To encourage students to refrain from cancelling, I use the following cancellation policy.
First cancellation = no charge. Things happen and I understand that sometimes sessions need to be cancelled. The first time a student cancels a session, I waive any fees for that session. Subsequent cancellations will result in charges.
Cancellation within 24 hours of a session = full rate for the session. I will invoice a student for the full cost of a session according to the rate I would have charged if we had fulfilled the session.
Cancellation within 48 hours of a session = half rate for the session. I will invoice a student for half of the cost of a session according to the rate I would have charged if we had fulfilled the session.
Rescheduling = no charge if we reschedule to a new time within the week (Sunday through Saturday of the current week). If we can't find a time to reschedule, then I will assess a charge according to when the request to reschedule was received.
Unpaid Invoices
Invoices are due on the date noted on the invoice (typically 15 days from the date of the invoice). Students with unpaid invoices that are past due may have sessions cancelled by me. Students (or parents) who are paying for sessions are encouraged to pay invoices when they are received in order to guarantee that I can continue scheduling sessions with the student.
Academic Dishonesty, Cheating, and Plagiarism
I reserve the right to end sessions immediately at my discretion if I'm asked to help a student cheat on an exam/quiz, if I'm asked to perform work on behalf of a student, or if I detect plagiarism in a student's work. Students will be invoiced for sessions which are ended due to academic dishonesty. I reserve the right to discontinue service for any students who attempt to entangle me in cheating. I do not provide services to help students cheat.
